Andrew joined the MHRA in January 2003. In 2006 Andrew took on the role of Heads of the UK Good Laboratory Monitoring Authority and subsequently the role of Unit manager for half of the MHRA’s Inspectorate. In 2018 Andrew was appointed as Head of the MHRA’s Inspectorate and Deputy Director of the MHRA’s Inspection, Enforcement and Standards Division. He has been a member of the OECD, EC & EMA GLP WGs and contributed to a number of international guidance documents. He was the Chair of the OECD GLP WG from 2014-2016. He played a leading role in the development of the MHRA’s GCP laboratory inspection programme and was an author of the EMA Reflection Paper for laboratories that perform the analysis or evaluation of clinical trial samples.
