Dean Aguiar, PhD is the Director for Preclinical Research at the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance, where he is responsible for leading the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Preclinical Consortium, a private-public partnership developed to stimulate collaboration and innovation to find a cure for TSC. He has 19 years experience in pharmaceutical and medical device R&D; including, Project Leader at Pharmacia and Pfizer, Director of Product Development at Biomimetics (medical device company), Program Director at The Hartwell Foundation and co-founder of Pendant Biosciences (an advanced materials startup). Dean earned a PhD in Biochemistry from Rush University (Chicago, IL) and a BA in Biochemistry from Beloit College (Beloit, WI).
